Parallel Carpentry owner David Swallow completed training in HND Musical Instrument Technology as a Guitar Maker at Leeds Metropolitan University in Yorkshire, England.
He continued his training in the carpentry trade by becoming fully trained and qualified to use power and standing machinery. He completed training in proficiency in the use of carpentry tools working for the engineering turbo/machinery department at Cambridge University building research and test models for jet engines. This involved building wind tunnels to test thermo dynamics for turbo engine blades, radiator models for Formula 1 racing cars, and testing various pressure containments relating to jet engines.
Dave worked as a lead foreman for 6 years for a BC design /build company that was awarded three provincial building awards and one Canadian National award for excellence.
With 15 years experience working as a skilled carpenter, David is a versatile freelance craftsman. He now lives on Gabriola Island,where he continues his career in carpentry and has been a resident of Canada since 2007 .
